It warps quickly

Review by CoolkidJ (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Accuracy superb. Strength? Not so much.

Use the product for my game head. Intense faceoff flexibility and perfect for stringing a channel.

Review by Jammin (Posted on 10/25/2016)

This head is pretty nice but dont count on facing off with it. Warps way to easily. Also very few stringing holes which is annoying. Otherwise ok.

Review by JJ (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Proton power!!!

Yah i said flexibly is a pro because i do face offs and i like my heads to be flexible so like stiff heads for face offs. I would get this head over and over again. i strung it up with a pita pocket looks sick.

Review by Irishlax331 (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Great head

this is my rainy day head

Review by JIM THE RUNNER (Posted on 10/25/2016)

I use it as my game head, it's the best head i've ever used. What's bad about it is that its too flexible and it has a little amount of sidewall holes.

Review by UD_Lax (Posted on 10/25/2016)
best head I've ever had

Honestly, this is the best head I have ever owned. It passes and catches like a dream and because of its flexibility and its very light weight, you have incredible feel of where the ball is in your stick. It has good hold and is a must have for any and every attack/midfield player (it's not one of the top selling heads of all time for nothing!). Anyway...Buy This Head!

Review by mr. matt (Posted on 10/25/2016)

AS long as your not taking a ton of face offs with this head it is the best out there you can buy no doubt in my mind. Extremely light and even though it doesn't have lots of stringing holes the ones it got are strategically placed and it always makes a sick pocket.

Review by Gerbs the Goalie (Posted on 10/25/2016)
great product

I love this head but it is very flexible and hard to string.

Review by Tizzle (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Great head

I play very often and this head has served me extremely well. I play side arm pretty often and it works very well both ways. I'm extremely surprised with its accuracy and control! It's a great head

Review by Twinkie (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Best Head in the game

I use the proton often it is a great head that i intend on using for a long time

Review by Grammy ice (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Good, Not That Good

This head is one of the most popular, well known heads ever made. Everybody loves them, or so they say. Personally I dont see anything special. It has a good shape but pinches a lot after a while. It is a good attack head.

Review by Jones (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Proton Power very good for midfielders

I use this product when my starting stick is in need of repairing or when there is a game that would get my other stick dirty or worn down. The Proton Power is very durable and not easy to wear. I would defiantly use this for a backup stick or a middie stick. Another use for this i saw once was on a d-pole, so it is also very good for defensemen who like to go up and take a shot at net.

Review by Dan the Grandlaxer (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Best Head Ever!!!!!

BEst head I've ever used!!!

Review by D-con (Posted on 10/25/2016)
decent head

this head is really tough to tring and is super bendy so it is next to useless for groundballs and defense. Other than that, though it has a really nice face shape to it and is really good for ATTACKMEN not middies

Review by bo$$ (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Great head for advanced players.

The Proton Power is a great head for adanvanced lacrosse players looking for a more pinched head. It had a good amount of flex, and has a nice overall design smimlar to the Super Power. The Pronton Power is one of the most used heads in the game.

Review by JP (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Great Head

Overall a great head. I would recommend this head for attack and middie. This would not be a very good D head because it is not stiff enough. Very few stringing holes but an experienced stringer can work around that. Great for middle school or high school players, probably not any younger though.

Review by Majorvolt (Posted on 10/25/2016)

just bad. a pain to use becomes illegal after like 3 games (10 faceoffs) bad bad head....thats all there is to say

Review by schot (Posted on 10/25/2016)
proton power

good head

Review by matt (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Proton POWER

Great head, lightweight and flexible. But over time even without taking face offs, the head started to pinch.

Review by Benton (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Great Head For Middies

This is a great head for middies. It carries the ball well, while still having an accurate, fast shot. My only complaint is that it warps somewhat easily.

Review by Raider16 (Posted on 10/25/2016)
why to buy this head

light strong great for every stick I have this head on my d pole and my short stick had I have tried to break it by hitting it on everything and it wouldnt beak stronges head i have ever had

Review by big man bob (Posted on 10/25/2016)

it is very pinched and you can get a good pocket on it but it warps easy

Review by julien (Posted on 10/25/2016)

I use the proton pretty much everywhere but for now on I will probably not use it in the rain anymore.

Review by LaxBro (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Great Head

Great long lasting head not so much for begginers.

Review by Lerch (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Good Head

Great light head, not a lot of string holes, and it warps too easy.

Review by Nate (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Great head

Have this head it's amazing got three goals in one game
Very easy to string extra holes

Review by The punisher (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Very good for mid or attack

I'm a mid who runs a lot and likes a head with flex and lots of hold/grip

Review by Liam the lightning bolt (Posted on 10/25/2016)
It's a classic.

Used this quite a bit in high school, but it wares easily and I usually get two good seasons out of it. Great release, hold, and ground balls. It's only as accurate as you are, so pinpoint if you know how to use it.

Review by JB (Posted on 10/25/2016)
One of the best

I used this head for a season and a summer, the head held up very well, but after taking a number of faceoffs with it the plastic is very bendy but not warped yet. Overall great head though.

Review by Zallen (Posted on 10/25/2016)
The best head at the best price

i used this head every year i have played except one and that year wasn't the same with out it my favorite head by far the hold and the release are perfect

Review by nate (Posted on 10/25/2016)
great head but broke in a month

i bought this head midway through last season and it cracked along the mold line and through a stringing hole within a month. other than that this is a great head and has perfect pinch. it was one of my favorite heads but its durability let me down. i would highly recommend this as a practice head but if you want something to use in a game i would recommend a stronger head

Review by siyguy (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Great Head

This head is the best offensive head out there. Can throw accurate passes and shots flawlessly, can pick up ground balls without skipping a beat, and with the right pocket, can have amazing hold. Stringing the right pocket is easy with all of the stringing holes. Only thing is that the proton power can warp. Overall, marvelous head.

Review by Windy City Laxer (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Great head

I've had mine for about 2 years and its still not warped or damaged much

Review by Big D....fence (Posted on 10/25/2016)

Sweet Head

This head is great over all. I dont know why everyone is saying it only lasts for a season because i have had mine for 5 years and it hasnt broken yet. Those people must be trying to break it

Review by Melvin (Posted on 10/25/2016)
It's pretty bad

I used it twice to face off and it warped.

Review by Lil R (Posted on 10/25/2016)
this head is great

mine throws like a toilet plunger

Review by confusious (Posted on 10/25/2016)

hard to string not enough sidewall holes. you CANNOT get a perfect-strung top wall.

Review by why do you care? (Posted on 10/25/2016)

I played a casual winter league with this head and it was fine but when my highschool season started it broke the first weak of practice, before any games

Proton is bad for faceoffs

Review by Nate the Pro (Posted on 10/25/2016)
great head

great head i love it but i cant seem to get the right pocket on it because of the string holes.

Review by c.middie (Posted on 10/25/2016)
pretty good head

this is a pretty good head. its nice and pinched and i like the ballstop. it feels really nice when you catch it and it looks nice. It warps pretty easliy tho. i was taking it off my shaft to put on another one and it got super bent to one side. not super strong.

Review by Jim the Runner (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Proton Power

not enough sidewall holes. unless you like a low-mid pocket, or LOTS of whip, don't get this head

Review by why do you care??? (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Good starter head

A very good starter head or even a head for an advanced player. There arent a lot of stringing holes so it is hard to string but it is still an pretty good head.

At first it was great but once i started using it more it was warping within the first month. It started bending when picking up ground balls. it is very light though.

Original Proton Power Review

I'm a big face off guy and this was a really good head, I have no complaints other than the head is a little pinched and stays that way unless you do something about it. I jam a hockey puck in it everyday after practice and that solved it, but other than that, great head, perfect for middies. However I wouldn't recommend it to any long poles simply because it's not super stiff, which makes it perfect for face offs! The only reason this doesn't get a perfect score is that stringing it up is a little difficult, but other than that it's superb.

Side note: I play/live in Colorado and this thing is sturdy and consistent, work just fine in all weather.

Review by Andrew (Posted on 10/25/2016)

It is fairly easy to string and smells like berries. My only complaint is it warps extremely quickly but i dont really care it still works fine for me.

Review by Six Pack of Abs (Posted on 10/25/2016)
worst head ever!!!

This head is terrible. It broke on the first day I got it in practice when I caught a ball.

Review by BinhNG (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Okay head for a more than 4 years old

Horrible now, but then again, the head has been around for more than 10 years.

Review by Jokers Lacrosse Midfielder (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Great Head

Great attackmen head. It's got a good pinch to keep ball control with a little snap when throwing quick passes and shooting to make your shot/pass quicker. Also extremely easy to grab ground balls.

Review by HS Lacrosse player (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Most versatile head I've ever had

I've had this head (since the 3 grade) an I'm currently in sixth. I've had it in my closet for a year and switched over to a traditional viper 2, it just wasn't the same so I got my old head that I found and just waxed mesh strung by barrier lacrosse and it is the greatest head I've ever had. I lived in Chesapeake, VA now I currently live in GA. I also have ad the same shaft since the third grade.

Review by Casper (Posted on 10/25/2016)
THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review by laxatute (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Great Head

Overall this head is a great head, I've used it for 3 seasons (7th, 8th and 9th). I used it this year (my freshman year), at the varsity level and had absolutely no complaints. The head has withstood many hard checks, and there are absolutely no cracks. I would definitely recommend this head to anybody.

Review by Reviewer (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Stx proton power 2

I have had this for a few months and it warped on the first faceoff I took. There are very small sting holes which make it hard to string a good pocket other than that it is an alright product

Review by Gino (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Awesome head

I've had this head for a season it's so awesome it's also great for face offs I highly recommend this head

Review by Blaxbro (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Not too impressed with the durability

Broke the first practice I used it. After getting slashed 3 times it snapped by the sidewall in 2 places. Great head while it lasted! Do not use for defence.

Review by 2016 Commit (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Nice Head

This is just an all around nice head. It's canted profile helps with shooting, and nice for picking up grounders as well. No complaints, exept that it's hard to string, but not incredably difficult. Even though the stringing holes are minimmal, just straight up lacing it gives some nice shooting channels. Atta boy's STX.

Review by Jim Lahey (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Great Head

I've used this head for half a season-ish. I use it on a Warrior Platinum Tactical shaft. I play attack but I dabble in faceoffs sometimes. This head is probably one of the better ones on the market, next to the Warrior Evo series and the Warrior Cobra. As long as you know how to use it, it is very accurate, lightweight, and difficult to break. It's also very flexible which, as you can imagine, helps with faceoffs. The only real problem with it that I can see is its scoop. It isn't particularly easy to snag the ground ball unless you get really low. Other than that, the Proton Power is a brilliant head and I recommend it to any offensive player.

Review by Gavin Black (Posted on 10/25/2016)
I would definitely buy this product

I loved this head. I have had it for 4 years. I still use it for face offs because over time it does start to get more flexible, but all in all I liked using this head

Review by Gabe (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Pretty good

It is currently my main head for game and practice. I bought it as an alternative for the pricier super power. However now I am going get myself a super power.

Review by Jim the runner (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Solid, old school head

Absolutely great head! Got it a few years ago in high school and have now since stopped playing competitively, however enjoy pick-up games and coaching. This head is my ol' reliable, definitely going to get a few more since the price is so low.

Review by CT (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Great head

It provides a good Chanel and is still strong.

Review by Logan (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Good Head for what its worth

First off, I loved my proton. It was a great head while it lasted and really got the job done. While it is extremely hard to string a good pocket because of the way the sidewall is holed up, if you can get a nice pocket the head is wonderful. It makes for a nice and accurate release while still giving a fair amount of ball control. On the down side this head is not very sturdy, it warped after a few games and it broke (side wall snapped) after about 7/8 games. Also assuming you'll use the head in high school play, it takes a little getting used to another head if you're going to play collegiate ball. You'll learn how naturally pinched the proton really is.
