The STX Stallion U 500 has been one of the most dominate high school midfielder heads for quite some time and it is now available for collegiate play. The new design makes this head 5% lighter than its NFHS model while maintaining the same level of performance. On average this head weighs in at 5.0oz and is equipped with STX’s classic C-Channel technology for extra durability.
One feature that stands out is its matte finish in select areas on the head; STX also added a graphic image of a Stallion on top of the head which in turn gives it a unique look. Although this head was originally designed for an offensive midfielder, the Stallion U 500 has actually become very popular amongst long pole midfielders as well.
The strength to weight ratio is amazing making this perfect for anyone who wants to score goals and inflict a lot of damage on their opponent. This head is a well-balanced workhorse that is built for high physicality.

Very easy to string. Lightweight. Great headReview by Smitty (Posted on 10/25/2016)
I bought this head about 3 weeks ago. I just went to a clinic/camp this summer (2014) and I liked it but it definitely has its flaws. I play as a middie and do the occasional FOGO for my team. I liked it for face-off however it just felt heavy for me since I have this head on the Warrior Krypto Lite. I honestly think its also a great defensive head due to the wider shape of the head. I loved it for what it is and would recommend it to a friend but I honestly wish I had just bought an original StallionReview by Joshua (Posted on 10/25/2016)
I use this head for close defense and it works very well ground balls is a breeze with it while throwing pokes it does flex a little much but always goes back to its original shapeReview by Alex (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Just what I was looking forReview by Grant (Posted on 10/25/2016)
The Stallion U 500 is the perfect head for me. I play LSM and since it's a little heavy it works really well for checks. I got this head since it's sidewalls reminded me of a hammer but not as wide. It's all in all a perfect defensive head. Not extremely wide, stiff, and the scoop allows you to effortlessly pick up ground balls. If your an LSM or a defensive midi I would highly recommend this head.Review by Austin (Posted on 10/25/2016)
this is the best head i have ever used, i love everything about it and would recommend it to my friends.Review by browner (Posted on 10/25/2016)
this is one of the nicest, well made, and best preforming heads i have ever used. first off, i had no issues stringing it which is always a nice quality. also, the head has a nice stiffness to it, but still a good flex which gives you lots of power and control of the ball. the face shape is perfect for any player has a nice look to it. the scoop gave me no problems with ground balls. overall a truly an amazing head by stx.Review by pipe magnet (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Within the first week I had this head strung with a traditional and on the first game that I played I cracked the head below the screw hole. I like the face shape and I think that this would be the perfect head if it was just more durable.Review by Defense player (Posted on 10/25/2016)
I am an LSM and asked for this head for Christmas. This head is too rigid for my tastes. I would recommend this head to defenders, but it does not have enough flex for any other position. The face is also rather wide, which is perfect for a close defender. The outermost top string holes are also hard to string on because the scope gets very thick. I had trouble stringing a triangle top string. The top string holes also do not line up with the mesh well, they are spaced wrong. The fact that there are 2 screw holes help reduce head rattle to almost nothing.Review by graflax_lsm (Posted on 10/25/2016)
An all-around a good head. I used it for faceoff, maybe not the best choice but it did its purpose. The only thing that may be bad is how heavy it is. But if you play D-Middie and take the ball up the field I recommend this head highlyReview by Mike (Posted on 10/25/2016)
I didn't even have this head for 2 days before the throat cracked. I took one pass at practice and there was a loud crack and the throat had a crack down the middle. In my opinion don't get this head, throat cracking is a problem with this head, I should have read more reviews about the throat problems with this head.Review by Lax God (Posted on 10/25/2016)
I strung this head up with traditional and it had lots of hold and ball control, however after only a few weeks of owning it the base of the head cracked below the screw holes. I play close defense and a little LSM and I thought this head was a little to flexible for my liking so I couldn't throw very hard checks.Review by BNorth (Posted on 10/25/2016)
First pass: reverse throat snap below screw hole.Review by Andrew (Posted on 10/25/2016)
I bought two of these heads.I had the first one for almost 30 days but it broke up by the scoop. The second one took about 60 days to break. I play LSM and it was great for ground balls and had the perfect pinch in order to carry the ball comfortable. I love this head, and I would keep using it if it didn't break so easily. I have now transitioned over to the Maverick Optik and I hope that will be a bit more durable.Review by Jake (Posted on 10/25/2016)
A good head, plenty of stringing holes and easy to get a good pocket in. Was mostly durable except for one instance when someone fell on it and caused it to warp some. Would recommend for LSMs. Not sure if I would use it for facing off.Review by Fred (Posted on 10/25/2016)
Awesome head very strong and great for big game useReview by Jim Phillips (Posted on 10/25/2016)
I've been playing on a club for a while. Bouncing between different heads, I finally found the one. Stallion u is great for many players and is easy to string a defined pocket and tight channel. I have no complaints.Review by Kevy Koo (Posted on 10/25/2016)
This head is one of my back up heads but its a very well built head and serves its purpose. very accurate but its a little on the heavy side.Review by The rev (Posted on 10/25/2016)
